Financial Transparency & Giving FAQ

At Reflejo, we believe generosity is an act of trust. We are committed to stewarding every gift with integrity, accountability, and clarity. The following questions address how we handle donations, how we are governed, and how you can stay informed.

Where is Reflejo registered?

Reflejo is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Wisconsin. This means contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and we operate under U.S. nonprofit regulations designed to ensure accountability and public benefit.

How are donations managed?

Contributions are received with the understanding that Reflejo and its Board of Directors retain control over donated funds in accordance with IRS regulations governing nonprofit organizations. While donors may express preferences for how funds are used, all gifts are applied in accordance with our organizational priorities, policies, and legal requirements. Donor preference can be designated to a specific program or project through our website. A 12% assessment for administrative expenses will be retained from designated donations.

Is Reflejo an ECFA-accredited organization?

Reflejo is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). ECFA accreditation is awarded to organizations that demonstrate compliance with established standards in financial oversight, governance, fundraising practices, and transparency. View Reflejo’s ECFA profile.

Are Reflejo’s finances publicly available?

Yes. We are committed to transparency and make our financial information available for review. You can access our most recent financial statement here.

Has Reflejo been independently evaluated?

Yes. Reflejo is listed and evaluated by MinistryWatch, an independent organization that reviews the financial health and accountability of Christian ministries. View Reflejo’s profile on MinistryWatch.

What’s Reflejo’s Statement of Faith?

You can find Reflejo's Statement of Faith here: Read full Statement of Faith.
Reflejo is also a member of Missio Nexus. All Missio Nexus member missions affirm and declare their belief in and defense of the historic Christian faith.

Who oversees Reflejo’s finances?

Reflejo’s finances are overseen by its Board of Directors, who are responsible for governance, fiduciary oversight, and ensuring that resources are used in alignment with the mission. This structure provides accountability beyond day-to-day operations and helps safeguard donor trust.

Can I give in ways other than cash?

Yes. Many partners choose to give through non-cash assets, which can be both impactful and tax-efficient. These may include:

  • Appreciated stocks or mutual funds

  • Real estate (homes, land, or commercial property)

  • Business interests or proceeds from a sale

Giving non-cash assets can sometimes help reduce capital gains taxes while maximizing your contribution’s impact. Reflejo can receive donations of this kind through the National Christian Foundation, provided they are previously coordinated with the Reflejo and NCF teams.

Can international donors give to Reflejo?

Yes. Reflejo facilitates international giving through a partnership with TrustBridge Global Foundation. This allows donors outside the United States to give in a way that is compliant with local regulations and may provide tax benefits in their home countries.

TrustBridge operates a global donor-advised fund network spanning more than 220 countries, helping ensure that cross-border donations are handled securely and efficiently.
