A mission agency by Latinos,
for Latinos to the unreached.
OUR STORY
Since 2017, a Latin American prayer network called RAP (or Pashtun Adoption Network in Spanish), has been galvanizing Latin American churches to pray and become involved in reaching Pashtuns. Through prayer, God raised several Latin American candidates to inquire how they may reach Pashtuns in Afghanistan and Pakistan, but could not find a suitable Latino missions organization working in the region.
In 2020, Reflejo’s founder, Dave Matthews, alongside his wife, Sarah, felt the call from God to start Reflejo, a Latin American missions agency led by Latinos, sending Latinos to catalyze Gospel Movements among the unreached.
Reflejo is the Spanish word for ‘reflection,’ which reminds us that our role is to reflect Christ and His Word instead of our own culture or expectations. We also remember that not long ago, Latin America was just as unreached. Since the unreached are a reflection of our past, we expect God can bring drastic gospel transformation in just a short time.
Despite a global pandemic and major unrest in Central Asia, in 2022, Reflejo sent their first missionary to Central Asia.
WHY PARTNER WITH LATINO MISSIONARIES?
The Great Commission applies to Latinos as well, and we must respond in obedience.
As Latinos, we have common historical roots with the Middle East and Asia, and can often go deeper, faster in relationships.
Because of geopolitical realities, Westerners aren’t welcome or safe in some countries where, oftentimes, Latinos will still be welcomed.
The Western church brought Latin America the gospel and taught us to multiply locally. Helping us discover our missionary potential is the next natural step in discipleship.
